Mural is the piece of artwork painted on any large permanent surface, usually walls or ceilings. The significance of Murals is that they could bring art in to the center of public.

Kerala, the south Indian state popularly known as "God's own country" has its own unique culture in mural-art. Kerala's mural painting is completely different from other murals in its look and feel.  According to critics Kerala holds second place in having the largest collection of archeological mural sites.

Kerala's traditional style mural-art-form using vegetable colors and natural pigments, depicts mythology and legends. Through the relationship between main gestures of the picture, they usually describe some theatric scenes.
